Gyles House dates from 1626  (one of its early owners was the mariner who transported King Charles II into exile after the Battle of Shrewsbury  ). The  house  was restored by the National Trust for Scotland under its Sma' Houses scheme for rescue of significant examples of early scottish vernacular buildings, and is Grade A listed for its architectural importance.  Gyles House's historic features include stone spiral staircase, original fireplaces and timber wall paneling.  See views of Gyles House

The historic university and golf city of St Andrews is 9 miles and 25 minutes drive away. Edinburgh is 70 minutes drive.
